Their story

An “authentic French crêperie,” Crêpe Montagne has been a Whistler hotspot since it opened in the fall of 1997, and has always been the place to go for a European crêpe experience. In addition to the popular crêpe breakfast cuisine, Crêpe Montagne offers a comprehensive lunch and dinner menu with choices ranging from cheese fondues to Swiss raclettes (raclettes are a fun Swiss dish that are prepared at your table on a special grill). Après dinner fare includes a wide selection of sweet crêpes – a decadent end-of-the-evening treat!

Crêpe Montagne is owned and operated by the wife and husband team of Laurence and Michel Gagnon. They met in 1990 while working at the Chateau Lake Louise in Alberta, and began their journey to blend their culinary expertise with varied fine dining, franchise, and ethnic restaurant experiences. They settled down in Whistler in the winter of 1994 with the dream of opening a “crêperie” that would bring a bit of France to Canada. With a passion for French crêpes and a shared entrepreneurial spirit, they began operating a crêpe kiosk at the local weekend farmer’s market. The success was immediate with the sweet scent of the sizzling crêpes gathering people around to watch their preparation on the unique French grill. All enjoyed not only the experience, but particularly the delicious authentic taste. In time, the Crêpe Montagne restaurant opened at its current location on Main Street. Thus the beginning of a Whistler tradition!

Our philosophy

High quality, welcoming and friendly service as well as a fun atmosphere are the keys to our success. Following the European model, Crêpe Montagne uses authentic recipes with only fresh ingredients. Every filling is made from scratch – from the batters, to the Cordon Bleu filling, to the caramel or lemon curd toppings – it’s all fresh.
